Seeing the front cover of our newsletter
XIV makes our team very proud as UCI Urology continues with robust growth. The cover
boast our 28 full-time esteemed faculty members (including four basic scientists).
Perhaps our greatest joy is the growth of our residency program; the ACGME approved a
complement increase from 2 to 3 residents, and for the first time we matched 3
remarkable residents this year!

Edition
In 2019, our research impressed upon 8
international annual meetings with awarded best posters and presentations. Our research
continues to expand with the recruitment of Josh Mauney, Ph.D., our inaugural chair
holder of the Jerry D. Choate Presidential Endowed Chair in Urology Tissue Engineering,
whose research focuses on reconstructed organ advancements using silkworm cocoons.
