Summer Surgery Pledges
The summer surgery team pledges to provide our summer surgeons with an intense and unique experience. We pledge to share all the beauty and challenges of the life of a surgeon and to use the programs robust technology and education resources to transfer knowledge and skills.
The summer surgeon pledges respect for patients and their families, the summer surgery team, surgical staff and the resources of the surgical education center. Being aware of unique challenges and stresses faced by patients, their families and the team charged with their care, the summer surgeon will manifest dignity, respect and kindness. The summer surgeon further pledges to show focus and determination in learning the skills and lessons taught by the program, and to work diligently with their team to create a novel surgical innovation.
With understanding of the gravitas and importance of assuring patients and their family’s high quality care and a professional safe environment, the summer surgeon understands that a single behavioral or professionalism infraction may result in expulsion from the program.
